If you get an oil leak for instance then its best to repair it instead of losing oil pressure etc etc. We have bus engines that have done over a million miles with I have a 2006 mk2 Ford Focus with 1.6 TDCI engine, and for years it appears to have been running cool in winter, taking a long time to get up to operating temperature. And sometimes even cooling off when in traffic. In spring/summer/autumn no issues, also not overheating.
There’s a reasonable range of engines to choose from: petrols kick off with an older 123bhp 1.6-litre unit and top off with two 1.0-litre three-cylinder Ecoboost units that make 99bhp and 123bhp.
