DPF Physical Cleaning. Well last week we removed three DPF systems from our Mack tractors and sent them in for a cleaning. They were throwing codes saying that the DPF could not clean it on its own anymore. With a few hours in removal, the 300 mile round trip to a cleaner (hard to find) and reinstallation, it was a expensive process.
Use a specific DPF cleaning solution, available at most automotive stores, and spray it generously onto the filter. Let it soak in for about 20 minutes, giving the solution time to break down the accumulated soot. Afterwards, rinse the DPF thoroughly with water, using a pressure washer if possible.
Yeah, the dealer said the filter was plugged tight, or so he says, I haven't actually seen the filter. The dealer is thinking because the fuel pressure sensor went bad that it caused the filter to plug up. Maybe because of the highway miles, the RPM's actually don't get that high to clear it out. Might have to punch it down more often. lol.
A delete kit and delete-loaded tuner are the two things required to delete the DPF on the LMM. Delete kits run about $700 with tuners costing about $1,000.
